Frequently Asked Questions and Key Challenges to Becoming an Entrepreneur

What is the cost of the Program?

The cost is $199 for six weeks of access. Included are: introductory text plus written assignments of over 60 pages; more than three hours of audio/visual presentation (including assignments); and, downloadable program notes (a complete outline of all audio/visual materials).

How long does the process take?

In order to truly reveal ones entrepreneurial “self”, the user must spend time not only doing the homework assignments, but take the time necessary for reflection. This is time in which “insight” is gained, and that insight in turn, lays a foundation for better decision making. You have six weeks of access once you sign up for the course. The reason for the six-week time frame is to give you a reasonable goal to meet and a framework of time to work within. The system has been time tested and it works.

What makes the Focus Program so different?

It’s different because it is totally different thinking than normally encountered in a course of study on entrepreneurship. The Focus Program is NOT about business planning, it is about YOU and your potential entrepreneurial SELF. It is designed to give prospective entrepreneurs the clarity and focus necessary to make better decisions about their future. It is designed to give emerging entrepreneurs the confidence required to take authority over the steps required to actually get into business, and conversely, it is designed to help those on the fence decide whether or not self-employment is a logical career choice at all or at some other time in their lives.

What’s the specific goal of the Focus Program?

The objective is to move through various layers of the program slowly, to carefully think through the topics, answer (in writing) the questions asked and then, layer by layer create a “Personal Entrepreneurial Portrait” (PEP) as a result of combining the insights gained from each topic. Creation of the Personal Entrepreneurial Portrait is the ultimate goal as it will help the program user decide if self-employment is a wise choice an unwise choice, or a choice to be visited again in the future. The PEP also is the gateway to understanding which, if any, type of business should be undertaken, and therefore, setting the stage for the next steps of creating a business plan with authority and clarity.

How does the Focus Program work?

First, there is a good deal of reading that sets the stage for a new way of thinking. Included are tips on entrepreneurship, as well as a clear approach to creative thinking, a necessary skill for all entrepreneurs. Next, there are six modules that require listening, thinking, reflection, and homework that layer upon layer will help you achieve a personal portrait of yourself as an emerging entrepreneur. Entrepreneurial types (something entirely unique to this program), various pathways to ownership, aptitudes, franchising (a very thorough introduction to the real world of franchising in case you are considering that style of entrepreneurship), personal planning guides, and more, are topics introduced to help create the PEP (Personal Entrepreneurial Portrait). It is the layering effect of listening, thinking, reflection, and writing that in combination results in describing you as a unique entrepreneur.
